This day is set aside for a visit to the Anaga Rural Park, a protected natural area with the best representation of the Laurisilva forest in Tenerife, a true living relic, declared a Biosphere Reserve in 2015, for its great endemism in flora and fauna.

Driving along this road that goes deep into the dense rainforest of trees with whimsical shapes and full of moss, is like taking a trip back in time.

Moreover, enjoying the mountain range landscape in one of the oldest geological formations on the island, with deep valleys and steep ravines that descend to the sea, appreciating the different microclimates that the island offers.... Not to be missed!

We leave from the agreed meeting point, passing through San Cristóbal de La Laguna, the ancient capital of the island and a World Heritage Site, located right at the gates of the Anaga Rural Park.

We start by going up to Monte de Las Mercedes until we reach the viewpoint of Pico del Inglés, which stands at 990 m above sea level; there we stop to take photos, stretch our legs and breathe some fresh air; we continue the route through the enchanted forest following serpentine roads and ravines, heading towards Taganana on the coast. Due to the change in altitude, vegetation and climate vary along the way, creating a wonderful contrast.

Taganana is a small village with Canarian customs and architecture, nestled among the hills and close to the coast, surrounded by unspoilt beaches and other agricultural hamlets. We enter the village and continue along the coastline where there is a beautiful black sand beach and another that is perfect for surfers; we continue until we reach Benijo, where we stop for lunch and to enjoy the landscape.

We return along the same road until we reach the summit to turn off and take the undulating Bailadero road which leads to the village of San Andrés. Then we go back up another road as it is worthwhile to look for a panoramic view of Las Teresitas, a long man-made beach with sand from the Sahara desert; on our way back, we visit the capital Santa Cruz along the Maritime avenue, going round the Spain Square and the Auditorium, to head for the end point of our route.
